Dustin Galyon joined us today to speak to our students about many aspects of being a responsible dependable person. Our Longhorns were very attentive. Thank you to Dustin for driving to AHS, and also to our students who represented us well. There is also a picture included of more of our presenters from the career fair. It’s was a great day.
Our career fair was a big success. Our Longhorns were exposed to new things, & we appreciate our presenters taking time out of their day to bring new ideas. We had 5 of the 6 career fields represented today. Thank you to our staff and students for helping make today a success.
Reminder from Alex Public Schools: Friday (March 11th) is an early release day. Elementary car line will start at 2:10; MS/HS will be dismissed at 2:20 to load the buses. Buses will leave the high school at 2:25 to pick up the elementary students.
Seniors: there are a lot of deadlines approaching for scholarships. Please check the website so you don’t miss out on an opportunity to get money. The local scholarships are due April 1st. If you need any assistance, please reach out to Mrs. Byrne.
These 7th graders had a wonderful tour of The University of Central Oklahoma and were tremendous ambassadors for Alex Middle School today. And as usual, we had to take a photo with our favorite UCO All- American behind us, Mrs. Baker! We are so proud of these students for their awesome behavior and representation of our school and community today! Go Horns, and for all of our UCO alumni- Roll ‘Chos!

Our Career Fair/Senior conference is tomorrow! Our 5th-12th grade students will have an opportunity to do some career exploration. Our seniors will have sessions specifically for them. Concurrent students and Votech students need to be at school by 8:30 am. We are excited to bring in 16 presenters and we are excited for our Longhorns to start thinking about their future.
The 8th grade Science Fair is quickly approaching & hopefully your student is finishing up their project! We have spent time this week working on a Bibliography & learning how to use Google Sheets to make data tables & graphs. Please remember that all 8th-grade students need to be present from 3:30-6:00 pm on March 23rd to set up & present their project to the judges. I have display boards in my classroom, only a few students have come & gotten one. Please encourage your student to finish strong on this project!! This is their semester test grade!
